NEWS
December 13, 2008 Just wanted to let you know that since this year
will be out of the door soon the new one is just right around the corner, DRD
is going through changes again. Firsthand, Brian has decided to focus on other
things and has decided to not be a part of the DRD anymore. With that we wish
him all the best in whatever creative ventures he longs to pursue. We
are still working on the new recordings, which have been really a long and thorough
process compared to ones that we were previously used to but we can only hope
for the best in all these efforts. Josh and Oliver have been working hard in making
sure that the songs represent us at our current state as a musical unit. We are
all looking forward to get this done by next year or else it may take longer than
a "Guns and Roses" record.
Thats all for now folks! Have a great end of the year and may you find the strength
to resist the great powers of consumerism surrounding us all at this time of the
year! -champ
November 2, 2008 This coming thursday we have been invited to play
at the Echo for The Happy Hollows Imaginary EP release party. The Hollows did
a great job with the EP, and it can be downloaded for free on their
website.
As
far as for our recordings, Josh is busy mixing the stuff that we have laid down
and the we will be setting up our recording gear again in a few weeks to do more
"live" recordings for more jammy songs. Recording has also caused us
to play less live, cause we want to concentrate more on the songs on how they
will be recorded by taking different approaches and rearranging them. More updates
to come. -Oliver
October 5, 2008 If you happen to pick up this week's LA WEEKLY. There
is a write
up about DRD and The Health Club for our upcoming show at Mr. T's Bowl for
Manhattan Murder Mystery's first residency night. Much thanks to Falling James
for having balls to write about DRD and our most recent available recordings,
Powered By People which you can acquire on the music
page if you have the time and the desire to do so. We have ran out of copies
since we had it only limited to a hundred copies but please feel free to make
yer own copies, We will make all the .jpg files of the cover available so you
can print them yerselves too. We are proud of those recordings but we are more
looking forward to these new ones we are currently working on. Anyways,
thanks to everyone who stayed and share the experience with us at The Echo last
Monday for D2A's last residency night. We are more than grateful for having all
this opportunities to do what we do. Also playing on Monday will be Gun Club devotees,
Blue Jungle. -champ
September 4, 2008 After writing songs, rehearsing them, and playing
em live for a couple of months, the time has come to recording them and release
them to the world. The plan right now is to start recording this month at our
lockout. Josh will be the man behind the console. It has yet to be decided on
how many songs will be recorded. Like the last album, this one will be a great
adventure. Champ
has been secretely working with Rhea on a project called Magick Bitches. They
just played their first show last weekend. Check out their myspace
page for upcoming shows and to listen to some of their kick ass songs. I also
have been doing some recordings by myself. Songs can be downloaded on this lonely
page. -oliver
July 28, 2008 This wednesday we will be playing at Echo Curio with
our friends Bastidas and Family Tree Analog. DRD will go on first at exactly 9pm,
rain or shine. We will also play for Bastidas's record release party in mid september
that Piry from Family Tree recorded. According to some people that heard a couple
of tracks, the unfinished songs sound bad ass already. Cant wait. -oliver
